I need some Objectbar help please

I don't know if I can explain my problem clearly but I'll try.

I'm trying to make a Start menu that has 2 sections in it. At the top, I want the content of the Programs menu (I don't want a button that pops up another menu, but I want the actual Programs menu listed), then under I want a container with 4 or 5 buttons for different functions (Log off, Shut down, Search, Help, Run Programs, etc.).

I started by putting it all in the same floating bar. Except there are two problems with this: 1- When the Programs list is too long, it overlaps on top on my other buttons underneath. 2- When the Programs list is long I want to have the scoll arrows at the top and bottom, but I want them to scoll only the programs list. I'd like to have the Log off, etc. buttons stay there.

Now after that, I figured maybe I should make those 2 different bars, a little like I saw the Windows XP objectbar was made (Windows XP object bar has 4 floating bars as the Start menu). Now this almost works, except that I don't know how to make my 2 bars join together so it looks like one menu, not have two seperate bars pop up. In other words, where can I configure the position of the floating bars?

Help please! This is very irritating.

If you load any standard "XP" type Objectbar, and right click, properties it will bring up the Theme Editor. Look on the Start Panel-Left / Most Frequently Used Programs section. Change the title to "Programs". Go to the "Behavior" tab and tick List Contents of Special Folder. Choose Programs from the drop-down menu. On the arrangement tab choose whether you want the whole menu to show or show as many items as will fit. Save it. Then open the WinXP StartPanel Left.obbar from that theme and copy the "Programs" section to your new bar.

To have the two bars come up together, just specify the bars in your obtheme file.

If I have misunderstood what you are trying to do, please forgive.

To move the bars around physically on screen so they appear where you want try dragging them with Ctrl down. It depends if the bar has been specified as being allowed to be dragged with Ctrl whether that will work. If you want to come onto #stardock I can try and troubleshoot with you.
