I QUIT!!

I just quit my first job! What a feeling of "what the heck am I going to do now" that comes over you after making that decision.

The funny thing is that I will probably be doing the same type of job next week. A Bike Messenger for some NYC company.

I like being outside and all, but can you pay more??? If I didn't loose my original job a 2 years ago, I would have to resort to working below minimium wage. And the weather!! SHEEEESH!!! If I am not freezing its snowing and if its not snowing its raining.

I think I should move up and work for UPS, FedX or something...

Just learned that New York is in a resession... more good news.

Funny that poll should be on the site today...

Yikes.

Well, you must have quit for a good reason so don't be bummed...and btw, UPS is pretty good to their employees from what I've heard (if you ever decide to go that 'route'...pun intended). Sorry, I haven't had my coffee yet...it's brewing as I type this.

Don't worry, things will work out for you! And you have your health and you love the outdoors which is goo...correction...which is GGGGGGREAT!

Mmmmmmm

/me smells coffeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

FedEx or UPS would be cool, you can work for a period of time and then check the lists and if you like move to another area where there is an opening

Kind of like a dream sheet when in the service.
Good bennies, pay, world wide employment

Florida mailpersons get two weeks of colder than it should be, 7 months of hotter than should be allowed and 9 months of so humid there is no way there can be a water shortage and 6 months of rain to make sure the humidty stays above 80%..

You can join the Marines. Not that I work outdoors all day but I have a cushy job that keeps me in the office. Plenty of jobs though for outdoors type of people.

I'll be hopefully working tomorrow as a shoveler and move some snow... 8.50 an hour. Way better than 3 dollars an hour.
But it is only temp of course.

The funny thing is that I know I will be working at another courier service by next week. I just hope they are busier than where I was working. 3 dollars per package would be fine if there were more packages. I tried to get 20 a day and all I end up with is 8,

Apply to UPS, they're always looking for people, they pay well and have good benefits..
A friend of mine has worked for them for years.

I agree with the others, check out FEDEX. I don't know how they pay initially, but I do know that after a while, the pay get's darn decent. Benefits are great, and more. I knew a friend that worked for FedEx. (Lost contact, or I would get more info for ya). Also check out, UPS (Pays good), and Airborne, heard they are pretty good. Tis the season for CHANGE.(Astrologically speaking. ) Good Luck to ya.

thanks Weaksid but I would if I could. For now it this. Maybe in the future something will turn up that is more to my liking.

At least I have a chance to be outdoors and maybe get a little work out.

I am going to FedEX and UPS tomorrow after some shoveling of snow for NYC sanitation. Since I do have "expirience" with addresses and stuff maybe I'll get some headway.
