Styl, don't discourage him. Everyone has to start from the beginning. Maybe his will be great.

Yeah, I know WOM, but there is nothing more discouraging than your first hard work wallpaper that will be rejectet, and there is nothing more encouraning then your first wall that is aproved. dont you think?

I had I think 3 rejected before my office hell was accepted. I didn't give up. It made me push harder and create something extreme. I got to say, that was alot of work.. I'm still sweating from it.

Any program is good. You just need to know how to use it. It's been said by many people all over this board. Like one person said before. A sculpturer could use a chainsaw and still make it look good. It's not the tools but how you use them. I probably messed up alot of spelling in there.. Too many things going on at once. I just wanted to state my comment

Adobe PhotoShop, JASC Paintshop Pro, Bryce (sorry Jafo)...and a myrid of others....there are actually a few walls here that were done with Microsoft's paint program. As the others have stated, it's not really important which tool you choose. Buy one you can afford and get to know it.

For beginners I definitely do NOT advise 'Bryce'.
In many ways it is like expecting to be a racing car driver by learning to drive in an automatic.
Use any graohic program you like, provided it can be equated to physical drawing or painting.
New users of Bryce or Terragen or other similar tend to suffer from the 'wow! this is kewl' disease and think they have created something 'brilliant and innovative', when, in fact, it is generally 'default' rubbish.
Bryce [should be] is the sort of proggy you 'graduate' to to expand your opportunities.
You must learn to walk before you can run.
Children who run are often hit and killed by cars...

Oh...and let's do a bit of vocabulary self-improvement and dispense with 'gay' as a derogatory adjective.
Its use as such shows immaturity....

common jafo! bryce isn't that bad, isn't bryce the way you made still traped in bryce world? (or you have ripped it from some kind of site? )
Bryce isn't bad at all. It's great!! But 'ya have to know how to use it.

Bryce doesn't kill wallpapers, people kill wallpapers

errr...something like that.

Question - "What will Jafo do?"

It's like when your in a bind, ask yourself.. What would Jafo do?

Sorry, just amusing myself. Nothing against you Jafo. You could actually take it as a compliment.

Styl...yes, it is and it's the exact living proof that Bryce in the hands of an idiot will create rubbish walls.
I also adeptly misused/abused PaintShop Pro 6 and Xara 3D 3 and Photoshop 5, along with Bryce 3.1

The litany of evils includes....

Point and click 'default' settings in Bryce...5 minutes of brainless creation.
Even that went wrong...not like the preview at all.

Title added with PSP...a bit too 'obvious'.

Unthinking cut-and-paste, randomly applied. [PSP]

Filter applied to entire wall...'edge enhance' [PSP]

Oversized text [PSP]

Multiple, different fonts [PSP]

Inane wording in text [PSP]

Lens-flare [Photoshop]

Linework added - misaligned [PSP]

Unrelated 3D personalized title [author-specific] [Xara 3D]

Ridiculous imagery...[pink dolphin] [PSP]

Applique of others' photographs [PSP]

Britney's boobs [PSP]

Another Lens-flare [filter abuse][Photoshop]

Another filter applied...ripple [PSP]

'XP' text so it's 'popular' for the masses [ill-fitting colour choice][Xara 3D]

More filter abuse...circle deformation [PSP]

Lastly, a [wait for it] Lens-flare! [Photoshop]

All done with a minimum of genuine 'care and attention' to detail, and absolutely NONE of it requiring any aptitude what-so-ever...
