Shell replacements are not quite the same easy-going thing that proggy skins are.
The alter the functioning of the GUI [shell] by actually replacing Explorer.exe.
If homework isn't done first before playing with them you are eventually going to strike 'problems'.
LiteSTEP is a very old shell...been around for a long time, and therefore has many 'versions' floating around.
You'll need to provide a fair bit more detailed info of which version you use, what theme, whether it's 'OTS-compliant' and what OS you use....and that's just for starters..

Or you could just discover the simplistic beauty that is Blackbox and be rid of the LiteSTEP evilness forever!

Or - just have a good shell to use while learning the myriad of intricicies LiteSTEP often involves. ^_^

(Yes, just a shameless plug for my favorite shell/window manager ever.)

hah! i bet it´s not half as complicated as you say Jafo.

he is probably using lsts.exe to switch themes. when there is no *.thm file in the theme´s directory, lsts defaults to sdtep.rc instead of step.rc. old known bug ...
just use lscp.exe to switch themes and everything will be fine as long the theme is OTS compliant.

moshi....for all we know he could be using b21 on NT3 with the LM78 module and ShellSW.exe as the changer...and that doesn't work...

that fact that he has some "click to select" thing makes this rather uncertain

but if so we should point him to desktopian.org. tin omens themes were the best for b23 anyways. http://www.desktopian.org/themes.html
