Moving Multiple Stacks At Once

So I've been playing the campaign, and I backed the AI into a corner where they stacked their fleet on their remaining worlds. Of course their total ships on each stack were around 25-30 so I positioned my own fleet around them, but couldn't figure out exactly why I couldn't attack with the bulk of my fleet. Each time I tried to send multiple fleets in at once they would attack one by one putting it 4 vs 30. Is there something I'm missing? The AI wouldn't even move from their position so it seemed there was no way to win without I suppose a pure tech advantage.

Build up your fleet logistic through the tech stream so your fleet size increases, unfortunately no way to have multiple fleet attacks.  Were the AI stacks one fleet or single ships?

Thanks for the information! The AI are stacked at their present location at the shipyard and planet.

Ships should automatically form fleets (up to maximum fleet size) and then stack individually (not sure but should probably form another fleet until max size reached as well).  If you're ships are not forming into fleets then suggest you have a glitch - have noted that the AI can 'choose' to have several single ships stacked tho!

Combat is always one fleet vs another fleet regardless if multiple fleets are stacked in the same hex.

Research logistics to increase your max fleet size then kill the AI fleets one fleet at a time.  Unfortunately you can't pick which fleet in the stack you are attacking.
