So I cannot open the console to enter commands.
Long search only brought me to this thread: Can't open the console
I am a Steamuser, but the process described in this link does nto work for me, whether I add cheat or "cheat" to the Launch options, can anyone help me? 
Really love the game to bits btw.
I deleted your duplicate post. Adding "Cheat" to the launch options should work.
"For those that dont have steam, you will need to create a shortcut item of the Galciv3.exe, and then right click on it and go to properties. Notice the TARGET LINK, which has the direct path and name of the Galciv3.exe application. Here, append " cheat" to the line, thus adding this option during the process launch of galciv3.exe."
