Smart Buttons?

I've downloaded hundreds of WindowBlind themes, but I've never seen one with Smart Buttons support. For every skin, whenever I click on "Smart Buttons" on the left of the WindowBlinds window, it says "Current theme does not support Smart Buttons" on the right. So, no skinner uses this feature, or is it a mistake on my part?

It's a rarely used feature. It was just introduced in the summer and showed up in a lot of the skins in the GUI Olympics.

Here's some skins that I know have Smart Buttons:

SETI green - by me
Design l - by Adni18
Olympic OS - by treetog
Lean Green - by PJPowell
Antique Copper - by Starone

There are many more but these I remember having that feature. I think several of Alexandrie's skins have Smart Buttons too.

My skin, "Magenta dreams" has one little smart button if I remember correctly. I t is a small "W" that appears on every window, and when you click it, it takes you straight to WinCustomize! It's here if you want to take a look.. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&SkinID=2999

Have fun!

Question:
Why a smart roll up button?
I haven't been able to figure out the advantage but have all my rollup buttons as smart buttons.

The advantage is that the user can easily reprogam the button to do other things. I think the reason they haven't really caught on is because there are only 4 plugins - 3 of which are already assigned button functions. A roll-up button is almost always included and I usually put a "lock on top" button on my skins. So that only leaves the Quick Launch and URL (which is also easy to do as a regular button).

I got confused about them after making a couple skins with them because I started getting emails saying there was a black spot on the skin where the buttons should be. That's when I found out they only worked on registered copies of WB and an un-registered copy would put a black square where the button graphic went. The solution turned out to be - don't activate the buttons on a skin, include them but don't turn them on. That way the black spot doesn't show up but a registered user could still activate, and use the Smart Buttons.

Probably more than you wanted to know about Smart Buttons but I'm glad you brought it up, I'd forgotten about them. I do want to include a couple on my skins just in case more plugins are developed for them down the road...

Roll up and roll down doesn't need to be a smart button. Be less work not making it a smart button.

I had no idea that smart buttons didn't show on the free version.

What else doesn't work on the free version?

And..

What percent of ppl that download skins doesn't have the registered wb.

Does the Windowblinds Menu plugin work on the freeware?

Does the clock?

Who uses buttons anyway? Just click the frame I say
