Maybe you've already read this, maybe you haven't. Anyway, here's a link. It makes interesting (and a little terrifying) reading. http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aspergers_pr.html

Not to terrify anybody but comment the only way I know how, allow me to quote a Scripture passage from the Holy Bible only as an itellectual excercise:

"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4

I believe we are witnessing these things now, but that is just my personal observation.

I understand what you are saying jake11, but we must always be cautious about jumping to such conclusions. Sometimes bad things, or bad news, or bad scientific findings just happen. Every time they do, does not mean the end of the world is just around the corner. If I slip on the ice outside my house and break my leg, does that mean the Apocalypse is imminent?

My point is that all new findings, all new knowledge, whether good or bad, needs to be tempered with reason. If not, then the "end times" may be brought about, not so much by the things happening, but instead by our reaction to them. The prophecies might end up being self-fullfilling.

I understand, and stand corrected.

It is just that I have been dealing with something that I am unable to escape, and so find reason filtered through the only truth I have found that means.

I just had to see where things stand here, now I know, and there will be no more comments like that.

Still friends

I was never upset about what you said jake11. All I wanted to do was to present an alternate view. Please do not feel that you can not present your own view. It is as valid as anyone elses. You can always say whatever you feel on this site and specifically in these threads. That is what makes it interesting.

Still friends for sure.

Something has changed here on the board though.
When I first came on, I found a expressive freedom being displayed that was genuine, but now all of a sudden, it is different.

Maybe it is just me: but thanks, this is the one place I know I can express without being ridiculed.

children who lack basic social and motor skills, seem unable to decode body language and sense the feelings of others, avoid eye contact, and frequently launch into monologues about narrowly defined - and often highly technical - interests

Even when very young, these children become obsessed with order, arranging their toys in a regimented fashion on the floor and flying into tantrums when their routines are disturbed. As teenagers, they're prone to getting into trouble with teachers and other figures of authority, partly because the subtle cues that define societal hierarchies are invisible to them.
