Non Steam version?

Hello. I am a big fan of the Galciv games. My usual plan for new games is to wait a month or so after release to get them to let bugs be worked out. So i am looking to get this game soon.

My question is, can i play this without steam? I have a bit of a dated system and cannot afford to upgrade at the moment. i can play the game just fine i know, but steam tends to be a system resource hog. So if this is one i can play without running steam that would be great. also, if nonsteam play is possible, will there be patch exe files available for download?

Never happening, this has integrated steamworks support. However you could buy the game on steam, go into offline mode in steam, shut steam down, and then play the game.
