The help is pretty extensive on Bevel and Emboss in Photoshop. Step by step to desired end product.

The Adobe site also has some very good in depth tutorials for such things.

Photoshop Magazine is something you might want to look for on the store shelves if you think about it. It isn't 10% tips and tricks and 90% advertisment, but the other way around

So you actually get a Photoshop Magazine with the money spent on it for a change.

Any of the Photoshop WOW books is another excelent source for learning. The new one for 7 is broken up into different areas, Photographer, Web Design, Graphics Art, etc..

Are you wanting to do this bevel for text or otherwise? With styles you have to take into consideration what aspect-ratio you create it in and what it is when your applying it. Otherwise you will apply it and on the screen it will look great and then when you resize the graphic the styles aspect doesn't change you the affect go blewy!

it's also a rendering style in 3D

I am using photoshop 7. I tryed 1000 ways to get it, (also the build in effect) but it didn't work out, let me search internet for a nice exmaple what I'm looking for.
