Isolationist suggestion

I have been creating quite a few custom races for the AI. Something dawned on me...we have the obvious "Expansionist" option. This makes sense. We certainly want AI Factions that come for us, lol. However, virtually every type of sci-fi centered around space civilizations includes those races that don't want contact. Why is there no "Isolationist" choice. I'd love to come across a faction that is just as advanced as mine, or more or less so, who don't want to join the interstellar community. This would pose a great situation. What to do, go around them, go through them, etc? This would add a nice strategic decision.

Another option: by giving them weak traits, along with "Isolationist," we could creating pseudo-minors.

Anyone have any thoughts? Any chance the developers might run with this?

It might not be so easy to implement. The isolationist wouldn't seek to gain more planets. They might just stay in their original place. Which wouldn't make them industrialized. But, still entertaining and logical.

Yes, but isn't that the code for "Minors?" They don't colonize, so doesn't it at least partially exist? Please pardon my ignorance, I have no "modding" or programming experience. Thank you for the positive comment. Entertaining is what I was shooting for. :thumbsup:

That is how I see the minor races.  To me they are minor because they don't expand and in a way they are more or less isolationist.

Exactly, this would give us a chance to add "minors."

I'm actually more excited about the prospect of coming up against a REAL Ideology choice. You have to expand. There is a choke point ahead. It is the only colonization worthy system in the foreseeable future. They DO NOT want contact. No treaties, No alliances. What do you do? Conquer? Wait? Go around? I think it will add a nice flavor to the game. I realize you can build a star base. This is just another option I think would add fun.
