To the new Sally

Once upon a time I had the wincustomize nickname Sally.

One day I looked around and seen everyone had a nickname so in order to blend in I changed from Sally to this one.

Now the voices in my head are saying to return to my original name HOWEVER it is no longer available.

My skin library is still in the name of Sally and some of my skins are also.

I will give you a shiny nickel if you read this and give me my name back.

Also a note to anyone that changes their nickname.

Ugh - I've put thought into changing my nick just so that it would match up with the nick I use everywhere else now (When I originally set up my wincustomize account, I didn't have time for message boards or anything - so I didn't put thought into it ^_^) but I know that as soon as I do it, it's going to haunt me /somehow/.

T-Man was the person that told me someone had taken the name.

Since I have been online I have had hundreds of nicknames and at first they seem ok but then I start to wonder what I was thinking when I chose it.

Some ppl can think of really good names and stick with it. Me not one of those.

Ah, if someone else has taken it, then you will have to think of another. If all the good nicks are gone, maybe think of something unusual? But don't change too often, you'll make us go dizzy!

Delicious, did you actually ask him to update it to your new name, or did you just ask if Sally was taken?

Unfortunately, this is one of the drawbacks of being able to easily change your nick.

On Deviant Art, I am JavaBrain because somebody registered my nick as soon as I started using it here. They have never used it for anything, but I still can't get it. It bites.

I lost 'Jafo'...or rather, missed it, on Devart....being then stuck with the [pretentious] 'the-Jafo'....

The most important thing about an on-line nick is not 'what' it is, but that it remains CONSISTENT.
If an observer misses the name-change they can be totally flummoxed trying to work out what's going on, doing both themselves AND the community a disservice. [Take note, AngEla]...

Delicious [Sally], my advice would be to stay just the way you are...in much the same reasoning that if I could, it'd still be 'too late' to change at DA to 'Jafo'....
