is window blinds a resource hog?

i just installed wb3.3 yesterday and threw up some cool blinds. but i'm having big time resource problems now, internet explorer randomly freezes and locks up, and i get these messages saying "not enough available resources, close some programs and try again" when i try to open even something like control panel.
help!

3.5 includes many enhancements for performance over 3.3 you will notice a big increase if you are using the newest version, i've started using the more highly grapical skins, and nothing slows down now, but before it did

I'm running a P3 450Mhz, 640MB ram, ATI 7500 64MB, WB 3.50a and have no probs. But I do shut it down when online because of all the online variables that occur.
