Game is playing itself.. help??

So i just downloaded game and decided to play the campaign. as soon as it starts the terran ships start moving and attacking other ships and the message window wont stop popping up. by the time i get through all of the messages in big letters DEFEAT is on the screen. so without doing anything i lose the game. i have tried this on every difficulty i have done this with the tutorial and with just a regular game. i have done no modding or anything just turn on the game and it plays itself. any help would be much appreciated.
