Im sure its been asked many times B4.... but what Programs are being used to make these bad @$$ Wallpapers?? Someone said Photoshop, but i doubt that.

I use whatever I can, if it works, learn it it well and you can make a simple program do extrordinary things. Right now, I use Paint Shop Pro AE, GIMP - (GNU Image manipulation program) it's a freebee, IntelliCAD 2000, Real Draw, Ulead Photo Impact, and I have been playing around with some free Fractal Generators, but they are kinda overused. Some of these artist use some extremely powerful apps far out of my price range, and probably this is what you are seeing. But as soon as I begin to be accepted, I think, or hope, I'll be able to show the rest of us that "use what you got" is just as good.

I forgot to mention the most inportant tool; no tool will work well enough until one learns to use what is inside themselves first.

Good point, I'm an amatuer DJ, and I've done work on other DJ's CDs for labels and covers, mainly drawling them, scanning them then applying Photoshop, and sometimes Picture it(for easy 2d to 3d transformations). I've heard of some of those, as i was reading them, yes my wallet started to cring, but I'll try to check some of them out. I'm big on making the 3d worlds and objects, so I guess Im looking at IntelliCAD or Bryce, but do you know of cheaper progs that can do close to the same?

As a matter of Fact, I recently DL'd a freebie 3D, named Caligari trueSpace3 SE, although somewhat dated seems to be quite functional, and there is Amalbis 3D, another freebie. Sorry,I have no links to supply at this time.

P.S. The Space Shuttle Columbia just exploded over Texas on reentry...

yeah, i saw the footage on MSN.Com (im at work), That sux, right there, mission done, on they're way home. And the mentioned, or asked, could this be terrorist related...when will it end, you cant blame EVERYTHING on them (no im not standing up for terrorist)

I'd like to get my hands on the freebie CINEMA 4D v.5. I think I saw it advertised in a magazine (PCFormat) at the bookstore a few months back. Not to be confused with Cinema 4D XL.
