Your GC3 Multiplayer Experience

Hi all, I wasn't sure where to post this thread so I'm just going with General. Anyway, My buddy and I were just playing a multiplayer game (2 players, the other 6 AI, Huge Map) and it ran great for a little over 100 turns until it suddenly began crashing every turn. At first we thought it might be the autosave, but even with that disabled and both of us trying to host it just seems to crash within a turn or two of starting.

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, as I know this is a new game and these things happen. What I'm wondering is whether or not you guys have managed to play through entire games without crashing? We were considering starting a new one but if the crashing is inevitable then we'd rather not invest the time and wait for a patch. If this was more of a fluke, though, we'd certainly like to dive right back in!

So have you guys had quality Multiplayer experiences? Is it worth giving it another shot? Thanks! :)

Nope - at least not past turn 100.  MP is fine for the first 50-80 turns or so (on average) then the crashes start rolling in with increasing frequency; mostly desyncs.  You can sometimes see signs of future crashes before they actually occur as things like UP results aren't the same on host and client, and other numbers start to vary between host and client as well, then soon enough a crash stops play.  Even after a reload the client still isn't getting the full picture from the host as things like Econ sliders and wotnot aren't where you left them, the UP chair isn't who it was, map segments that were revealed no longer are, etc.  I'm no expert but such behaviours were present in other games that were famously plagued by desyncs, like all of the last four or five Total War games.

I've yet to make it past turn 100 in a MP game.
