Crapola!

I signed up for a 2 year subscription to wincustomize.com today. And the very first time I logged in it said that my membership had exprired and asked me if I wanted to renew. I found that a little scary, but thought... 'perhaps it's a glitch.' Nevertheless with my premium level 4 membership I wanted to checkout Toon XP for my wife, but can't seem to come across any place to download it... although I have the option of buying if I choose. That doesn't seem to work too well, since I thought that was one of my benefits of subscription. Doh! Help me please.

You need to contact one of the admins about the expired subscription. Click the About link on the right side of page for the email addresses.

Toon-XP does not come with your subscription.

The time expired is a glitch. Perhaps someone can help you with that. I can't recall a fix offhand.

The Toon XP skin is not part of the WC subscription and is available for sale independently. XP Augustus is the skin available only for WC subscribers. On the left hand of the WC web page look for Resources, Subscriber Resources.

Here's my "support" response:

Please note that this is a "canned" response and may include steps that you have already taken:

Please follow these steps if you are getting an expired warning in the WinCustomize Skin Browser:

Make sure that you have installed the most recent version by getting a link from www.stardock.com/support

While at WinCustomize, open your "edit account" and cross reference your email accounts (SkinBrowser purchase with WC). If you are not sure if this has been done, please do it again. Or, just do it again to make sure.

After you are done, close WinCustomize and open it again, then close it. Open the WinCustomize Browser.

If it is still saying that you account is expired, please delete your WinCustomize cookie. Close IE then open the WinCustomize Browser.

If it is still saying it is expired, please email T-Man at [email protected] with the following information:
1) Full Name
2) email address(es)
3) what steps you have taken
4) logon information for WinCustomize
5) what version of IE you use
6) what version of Windows you use

when I decided to get a wincustomize subscription, it told me the same thing - about needing to renew my account. I just waited for a few minutes, and it went away. Guess I was lucky.

It's usually a cookie problem. Easily sorted, sometimes by itself...
