Option to remove "drag and drop app launching"

Drag a text file, for example, to your docked word processing application to quickly open the file right from your dock.

It's a nice feature that i don't need.

Can it be removed?

No, it's just i like to have more viewing room.

If it could autohide, then that wouldn't be too bad.
