Anti-troll 101

Anti-troll 101

Dear members:

These are not cyber-war tactics ()…these are just common sense/courtesy/decency type tactics that if properly deployed could do this forum a world of good:

When a troll starts a thread:

IGNORE IT. Don’t respond…it just PERPETUATES the thread no matter how good your intentions because you bring the ‘troll’ thread back up where it certainly doesn’t belong.

REPORT it: Rather than responding you can right click on the ‘mother thread’ link and save the link and forward it to an Administrator whom can remove the link if it’s repugnant or rude etc.

REMEMBER: A troll wants attention…ignore him…and he leaves…keep giving him a trail of crumbs and he’ll follow.

Follow?

(((HUGS)))

Hi Weaksid, I was just visiting your website and I was wondering if you have heard of colloidal silver? It just may be something you're interested in.

Colloidal silver has been around for a long time. It is a liquid with a suspension of silver particles. It has been known to heal a number maladies. It's not "snake oil". You can use it internally or externally. There are a number of sites on the web where you can buy it.

Na, I don't need anything anymore. If you read what I was going through on my site. I had my colon removed so it's too late now. Thanks anyhow.

Holy Cow!!! I can't believe all the posts since last night Read 'em all though. It's been a rough one for Shmoopy, looks like. Dear sweet angel, I hope the world is brighter today.

I had lots of comments and replies, but forgot them all by the time I got to the end You have been spared

Interesting. There's a guy complimenting the site and skinners, well worth putting a reply on to say thank you. Yet there are two troll posts around it with more replies.

It seems to be easier for people to respond to insults than it is to say thanks.

/me says try and be nice to everyone - and ignore the trolls as Shmoopy says.

Because, while compliments are wonderful, wonderful (and rare!) things, I think that anger/etc. often illicents a stronger reaction from people, unfortunately. :/

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhh my goodness, this thread is funny!!!

I think must people who are "trolls" just do not know allot about what they are writing about. Must are also unwilling to listen or take the time to read. I think we should treat them with some respect but ignore them when they become testy or nasty.

Haven't we all been trolls once?

I remember one time a freind and I went into a religious chat room on aol (back when AOL was cool; ) and my friend draws this dirty picture out of letters and numbers of two people doing something nasty... aol cancelled his account but that was like 6 years ago... man it's been that long... so I guess I was a troll once, commenting that it was religious characters... no offense to anyone here who believes in god... I was just young and very ignorant...
