I couldn't decide which thread to ask in so wa la... A brand new one

So far every skin I load is not showing the first panel item back.

I am aware that not too many on this DB care to comment on my comments but that is OK because I am beyond tip toeing around afraid of saying something that might upset someone. Remember sticks and stones... so get over any unpleasant comment and sublimate the negative input.

You will find that ppl that give concise and truthful statements will stand before you when others melt away. or more accurately their whitewash exterior fades.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'first panel item back', but...

There are some issues with non-wb4 skins, which are being worked on. Remember that 3.90 is *alpha*

In the meantime, try the updated versions of Beacon:

im not sure what you mean, could you clarify?

perhaps be a little more tactful, it was un-necessary to say everything beyond your inquiry, and yet you did. Freedom of speech does not mean one should always do so

anyhow, I think by the 'first panel back', he means Shellstyles -- the left hand 'panel' of explorer windows. I've been having problems getting this skinned as well, and I found that the folder backgrounds won't apply either - those are part of shellstyles too.

I've tried with different updated skins, with folder backgrounds enabled and disabled from the visual effects dialog, and with a plethora of Shellstyle option combinations from the advanced display properties dialog. No go whatsoever.

Is this the known issue you're working on? I suuuure hope so, cause other than that this is pretty dern sweet

i was refering to the program and places list first image in the two image thing.

i installed colony but that skin looks like it doesn't have a dual state image.

I am off to get blackcomb. I seen the design that blackcomb has at a Microsoft site. Is that a Microsoft skin?

Oh I see the daily skin is blackcomb. Subconscious flub.

Beacon doesn't have the dual state images either so I am guessing dual state images have been lost in the upgrade.

colony is one heck of a skin. a definite keeper.

sorry but Beacon has flaws to be a 10 rated skin.

Blackcomb is (somewhat) derived from Watercolour, which was a theme included with beta copies of Windows XP (removed before final release). It hasn't got any official standing/affiliation with Microsoft.

Did some investigation and discovered the first frame of the panel item is suppose to be there. Sometimes it is there and sometimes not. Mostly not but on some reloads of wb it shows up.

The chevron used to open the desktop from the taskbar looks like it is skinned with the quicklaunch buttons.

This may or maynot be a conflict? I am guessing most ppl scatter icons all over the desktop and don't use that feature. Gathered that info from the majority of skins have that area unreadable.
