Clock objects question

I hunted around for answers to this, but found none, sorry if I missed it. But, could someone please expain to me how to make clock objects work in DesktopX? Clocks that I have downloaded give no clue to whether they are using some sort of plugin or what. Every time I try the analog clock plugin it just makes my object disappear (I'm using a .png format)to a white spot with the little black hands ticking around. I would appreciate some details on getting the different style hands and such so that I have an actual cool looking/working clock. Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give.

create a new object, go down to the additional abilities section and click on add. Choose the analog clock plugin, click OK. Highlight the plugin name and click on configure... then go nuts

The analog clock plugin provides exactly what you are seeing. The hands (and face if you choose) of a clock. The idea is that you put this object on top of another one (ie a PNG) that is the background. You configure the hands to whatever width you want and the colour. If you set the background colour to 255 0 255 it will be magic pink and hence transparent.
