Can anyone help with shells !!!!

If you want to use LiteSTEP, be prepared to do a lot of reading, before you ever attempt to use it. LiteSTEP is a very powerful shell replacement, and if you don't understand it, before you use it, you will be sorry.
I would suggest you start out with one of the shell enhancement programs, such as HoverDesk http://www.hoverdesk.net/ (my personal fav) or DesktopX. https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/

Another good way to test things/learn about LiteSTEP is to, of course, run it on top of explorer too, instead of running it as a shell.

The problem then, at least in my case, is the niftier modules (such as desktop or desktop2 or whichever one it's using now,) don't like to work.

(At least they never did with me ^_^)

Running LS on top of another shell [Exploder] can give you issues which doesn't necessarily improve matters.
It is far better to run them independently...but use a shell swapper/selector to 'catch' crashes and keep your system opperable.
ShellON is the selector of choice.
If LiteSTEP gets mangled while you are messing around you can 'kill' it and ShellON will pop up and let you reload Exploder [or any other shell you may have]...
