I was feeling vulnerable...I took away my first accepted works here in a fit of immature rage...(silly me).

Finally, I came up with something I was proud of...and that had my best score and a certain someone besmirched the messages on my work with his drunken stupidity which after I FIRST deleted he denied until I RE-uploaded and he saw his own statement glaring back at him as PROOF.

What work was this? My work 'slither'...

I won't name the 'person' whom hurt me with his drunken, ugly remark but it makes me sad that I had to take away one of my best works because of this.

Even my own mother asked me, "Why did he say that?" I was MORTIFIED. *Tears*

I wish people took more heart and thought and soul into what they wrote on people's artwork... It forced me to retreat and I DON'T EVER want to do that again. *sob*

I'm hurting and angry right now. I'm sorry for going off on a tangent.

Shmoopy, I'm sorry to hear that. Don't feel bad. Unfortunately some people are callous and intentially hurtful. I'll never understand why. In the future perhaps you can email a mod/admin to take care of the abusive comment for you so you won't have to take it down.

TY Chris... I tried to save that 'person' the embarrassment and trouble by deleting my skin and uploading again but his comment was back intact after the fact. *Sigh*...

I got so hearbroken I deleted all of my stuff from here. Stupid me. Well, lesson learned I guess.

My heart just hurts for me...selfish huh? I shouldn't give a crap really...it's not like I can't do better...but that was one of my best is all...and I feel somehow sad I guess.

too bad you did not ask one of the admins here to review the comment and they prob would have taken it off? (not sure) but it would have been worth a try before taking it down if it meant that much to you... but guess it's too late
anyways, don't feel like alone we all have ripped our stuff down at one time or another in a fit of "whatever you wanna call it" hehe

Someone put a puke icon on one of my skins. Didn't matter - the complimentary remarks I got from the site's top skinners outweighed the one negative comment by a million to one.

There's always one who gets satisfaction from being nasty. If you ignore them they lose some of that satisfaction and end up lookin dumb. One comment is not a measure of your true worth.

Hey, i know what you mean, happends all the time to me ,
no for serious, i had this twice or some, with my desktop x, only that was a little polite one: dont like it sorry, but it was worse at my R.E.D. wallpaper, i was just a little boy... uploading his very first wallpaper, and full of joy of getting a comment, after seeing that the wall was downloaded 1000 times, (worked on it for 3 hour in photoshop) the comment was:

:vomit: :vomit: :vomit: :vomit: NEEDS WORK

(hope the icon still exists)
but shocked me dam yeah... now i am resist against it, after seeing it is in topdownloads or what ever, 1 guy cant rune my good day.

Gyah. I admit, I've never uploaded anything (my skins and such are well, to be honest, usually pretty... okay, they're crap - I just make them because that's the only way you usually get -exactly- what you want ^.^) but comments like that have /always/ annoyed me - be they something here or somewhere else.

'Needs work'. Is it hard to be a bit more nebulous than that? Sure - anything submitted anywhere will 'need work' - but the question is, if the person making the comment is so smart then just /how/ does it 'need work'?

Constructive criticism, when used responsibly, is a great thing!

(Whee, early mornings, first cup of coffee, mind wandering all about...)

Yeah - I figured as much, I even knew the icon you were talking about... I even think I've seen the wall/comment you talked about - either that, or I've seen the same identical comment on something else. :/
