What happened to a few things?

So. some things have disappeared from the game, and I am curious as to why? just for performance reasons?

The cute little monorails around your buildings. they were so cute!

Your HQs having a measurable increase in size as they level up. watching little buildings pop up was so cute!

And perhaps, most recently added and deleted, were the ferries which shuttled goods to and from the neutral colony.  I feel the existence or lack of existence of these really really affects the multiplayer game, as you now know, or dont know who is buying and who is selling what from the neutral colony.   In any case, they were certainly cute, and I miss them.
