While I understand that the users who hit this site are of all lvls of computer expertise, I'd like to see some more in depth and advanced tips once in awhile. General stuff...well I'd like some schooling of Skinstudio. I've made a few personal ports of various VS skins, but I have the hardest time starting from scratch, and Im too lazy to read websites designed for the total newb (nothing out there is text book reference enough, ive got a short attention span and like to get to the meat and potatoes fast). Quick tips and how too's on the subect would be sweet.

Little known fact: BoXXi used to be a professional actor, and thinks he should star in a "skinning soap opera"!

Treetog: "BoXXi! Are you sure you should try skinning Winamp?, it could be fatal!".

BoXXi: "Yes, I know Treetog, it's dangerous but I have to face it sooner or later, and what kind of skinner would I be if I didn't skin it?"

Alexandrie: "Oh my, BoXXi, you are so brave! you be careful, that Winamp can be a nasty little sucker!"

BoXXi: "Don't you worry your pretty little head Alex, if I can skin WindowBlinds, I can handle this sonofagun!"

BoXXi opens Photoshop, and makes a brilliant "main.bmp", but immediately gets hung up on the "playlist"!!!!!!!...................................

Tune in next time to see if BoXXi can outwit the playlist and move on to..... the EQUALIZER!! [Cue suspenseful music....Fade out....]

I'am with you werewolf. Only know 1 Jerry Falwell, but he is sometimes a comedian.

I echo the suggestions for tutorials. In fact, I suggest two distinct segments on each show: Beginner and Advanced. That way everyone will be drawn to watch...I consider myself like, just below Intermediate, but I oick things up fast when they;re shown to me...so I would be drawn to watch for advanced skin-building tips. That would include 3-D rendering stuff for icon makers, Photoshop tips, and obviously the Stardock apps and how to get them to do tricks no one has even thoughts of.

The Beginner stuff would be building simple themes, how to load a theme/skin/suite, etc.

Also, get interviews with the top skinners, and show off their best work, and get them to talk about how they came up with ___ and expound upon the process of creating some of these bad-ass skins that get downloaded hundreds of thousands of times.

I wouldn't mind a sneak peak at pre-alpha stuff once in awhile, just to wet the old whistle...

I know when I'm showing off my desktop to a friend I blab on and on like some kind of tv answer guy. I'd love to see how the pros approach their desktop environment

I just hope it goes streaming. Waiting forever to download that WindowFX 2 video was hardly worth it. Of course, streaming would mean yet another server upgrade and $$$ to make it happen.
