Newbies and the puke icon

It seems that some newbies think it's cool to put the puke sign while commenting on artists work. This seems like a lack of class. If you don't like a certain work then move on or politely say so without the puke icon. If you think you can create something better, do so. Remember, these people spend hours and days doing this for free. So show some class.

WOM...I don't remember any specific reference to the removal or not of the 'puke' icon...but I certainly would endorse its removal....it's asinine and puerile.....and certainly unwarranted in skin comments....

Jafo, like I said, it's been some months back and things start running together, but I think frogboy didn't want to remove it. Might have been another admin, not sure at this time. But why don't you bring it up. It is very tasteless in skin comments. It's the cowards way out. To easy to put that icon than explain why.

the emoticons were really meant to augment and narrow the interpretation of expressed words. ( is that blatant barb serious criticism, or just good-natured teasing ?) words alone are woefully subject to misinterpretation in direct proportion to the reader's paranoia quotient, and the degree to which he takes himself too seriously. not that i've ever felt insulted, mind you...

Now that seems to be the main complaint does it not?
That has surely been my downfall in popularity with certain people.
Hey, Hello!
I'm kidding...
Is that so hard to accept?
Is that so demeaning to you?
Hello!
Grow up.....

Now I see why that child is upset. Tried to help his on his thread and he didn't like the answer. I guess he wanted me to make the skin for him.

Iben...your example was OK...at least the comment wasn't pointedly 'nasty'.
WOM's example was just some ignorant newbie [note the member number] who had a jammed caps-lock button as well as being overly negative...
