I dont have all that much talent with drawing, but Im not the worst either but if someone would kinda give me an idea about what kinda programs to use to make some of this neat stuff, im very new to this, like a few days..Id be glad to try to make something or at least try to make something, im fascinated with some of the orbs and such, I have Adobe 7 already,what other programs would I need and what else would I need to get to make some neat Icons..

You already have a paint program and to do icons you need icon packager or Axialis or any other icon program.

microangelo... you can get it from download.com that will make icon making easy for you... i've even made icons with it before... it is really cool... and I believe a few artists have made templates you can use to get started... check in the graphics section, but if you do use someone's template be sure to give credit where credit is do... people around here hate plagerism... hope my info helps...

I also use Microangelo, but I know that a lot of people like Axialis better.
I've tried it, it does have at least one feature that Microangelo doesn't have, the ability
to port Mac icons to XP format.

Axialis also lets you import .png files and make icons from them...so you can do a really sweet alpha blended .png file and then make an icon from it, preserving the transparency.

Ok sounds good guys, Ill check out those proggys, get them up and running see where I need to be from there, I remember paying alot of money for Photoshop and I loaded it and it looked like a blank screen with alot of tools on the taskbars then I closed it and havent touched it since..

I had a little trouble understand what some of you guys were talking about "so you can do a really sweet alpha blended .png file and then make an icon from it, preserving the transparency". this is a total different language to me.. IM trying to learn though..

im trying to get some research on it.

Ok I went out and got Axialis and PhotoImpact 8, So I guess now I have just about everything I need to start working on this, I dont know where to even start but I will do some reading on it and get to it as soon as I have some time..any more info would be appreciated..

Wom as soon as I can figure out how to get the brush on the page I will post something..

So far though I dont even know how to get a picture on the screen much ess make anything that looks halfway decent
