I banged on about this in the forums for a long time to no effect. Basically WB only understands TGA files written by a very limited set of applications (like Photoshop for example).

Why on earth WB doesn't support PNG files I'll never understand - many other Stardock apps support them (DesktopX for example).

The image must be a 32bit uncompressed tga to work properly. I personally wish png was an option.

Koasati,

I've produced 32 bit uncompressed TGAs with several apps. None worked except photoshop. Can't vouch for other commercial applications like PaintShop Pro though.

PSP only supports 24 bit uncompressed tga files. That's why I would really prefer png. I shouldn't need a high dollar app, simply to create a few images with alpha transparency to use in WindowBlinds skins. It seems a bit elitist to me.

I agree koasati...I really wish they would change the .tga to .png. A lot more apps can do .pngs well.

What are some of the programs that support the 32bit uncompressed tga format? Like 20/20 or Infraview that are freebies. I can't remember if either of them saved in that file type.
