mmm, whats your hardware config and also what is loading resident in memory along with desktopx?

would probably be a good place to start, so people have an idea of what might be taking place... it could be just about anything that is loaded in memory along with desktopx, or desktopx it self

just a thought...

some of the older plugins for DX were fairly notorious memory hogs. You might want to try either deleting them one by one or start with a blank theme and add the Pixtudio plugin objects in one by one. You can monitor your memory as you do this to find the culprit.

The new version of DX v2.0(alpha) is extremely lite on resources. So I would assume it is the theme, which one in particular? And if you are using 98 or ME memory can be a problem.

it must be the theme prout... Try one of these new ones that BoXXi did in December:

Any one of the top ones that match your screen resolution, if indicated, should give you a good comparision. BoXXi is one of the best with DX and a lot has changed since that Pixtudio theme came out. If it is still happening with one of those then it could be a problem. Let us know.
