Photobucket And It's New Practice

I don't like it.....

Hey guys, I notice that recently, whenever I post an image via Photobucket, or view someone else's posted image, clicking the image in the forums not only opens the image in a larger format, but it gives access to the rest of that poster's images.  8C

I'm fairly sure this is new, and fairly certain I don't like it. (However, it did give me the opportunity to browse all of Doc's "shops", and to grab the ones I wanted.)  ;)     :-"

Is this a problem for anyone else? Or am I being a redneck about it all?   :sheep:

Since ImageShack is no longer free, and TinyPic has the stupid captcha, and it resizes your images, does anyone have any good suggestions for free image hosting?

Google Drive. create a public folder, find the direct link in the details pane under "hosting"

Thanks Red!  Will take down the pic now.

I use my dropbox to post pics now. like google drive, use only the public folder.

Jim, you're seeing that because the 'folder' with the original image you were looking at is set to 'public'.

Other folders aren't, necessarily.

BTW, you now owe $459.74 for the images you downloaded.

What a steal. My price would have been a lot higher considering the time and talent that went into the work. Also look at the exposure that they got. They may be World known by now.

I know about using Dropbox public folder. I just hate keeping a bunch of old images that I no longer need hanging around in my Dropbox acct.  If deleted, the forums end up with a bunch of broken images. I don't want to be responsible for that.

Doc, check is in the mail....... :-"

So, are you saying that if I go to my acct. on Photobucket, and make the folder private, it'll give access only to the image I posted?

Well, that didn't help. It still gives access to the whole bucket. I set it to private....hmmm...I guess it'll be dropbox.

Only if that is the only image in that folder or library - as they define it on Photobucket.

Let's make this easy: If you wish to make only one image public, you create a Library with only one image in it, the one you wish to share.

Example: Imagine a library with only one book in it: "Sheep I Have Known and Loved".

I've noticed a lot of image storing sites are changing things, policies, etc. I used to use ImageShack exclusively but stopped when it went to a payed service. Right now I am using Imgur.com.

What is everyone else using to share their pics and goofy photoshops in the forums and such?

Yo Po.

Dropbox, Photobucket, OneDrive...all good.

Right?

I don't think it'd bother me if the images I uploaded to photobucket or whatever were made public, cos they're all fairly innocent and innocuous...

I suppose what would bother me, however, is if my homemade porn got accidentally uploaded and a wider group of people became aware of my proclivities with barnyard creatures before I could take them down.

Now that would be embarrassing... and the straw that broke the sheep's back. :-" :X

So yeah, there's someplace I gotta be. O:)

See, you don't know everything!  And of course you did... know about cave porn, that is.

Your cave was one of the first to have a painting of a couple of Wooly Mammoths having at it.

It's not the sort of thing that would give me a buzz... but each to their own, I guess.

There is often confusion between its and it's. If you delve deeper into this issue, you will see that there is good reason for the confusion. However, if you just want to know what is right, the matter is very simple:

It's

It's is short for it is or it has. This is a 100% rule. It cannot be used for anything else. If you cannot expand it's to it is or it has, then it is wrong.

Its

Its is like his and her.

His is used for a masculine possessor (owner). (These are his pies.)
Her is used for feminine possessor. (These are her flowers.)
Its is used for neuter possessor. (These are its footprints.)
