Icon text help

Hey whats goin on. I'm having a little problem here. I just formatted my computer and now everything is almost back to normal. I'm having trouble changing the color of my icon text. I already disabled -apply the skins color theme- and -appply any wallpaper supplied- in the WindoBlind settings.

Before, I would changes the color of my text from white to black and then when I would reboot the color changed back to white - that fixed it.

Now when I right click my desktop and go to -> advanced -> other advanced controls -> and change the color of the desktop my icon text doesn't change color at all. I'm trying to change it to white so I can have black text but it won't do it. It just says white.

I'm using XP.

Is there something I'm missing somewhere? I would appreciate some help.

Does the advanced properties make permanent changes one would wonder. Or is there another program that over steps that when you reboot.

Reformatting is good for spring cleaning but it does set everything back to default settings. Icon packager, windowblinds, other desktop software. You have to start back at the beginning and reset everything.

You should expect to loose all your settings when you reformat. Doesn't it tell you that?

I fixed it.

I had to go to System in control panel -> advanced -> performance -> settings and uncheck -use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop.
