icon installation

I was noticing many of the icon packages include icons for drives (CDROM, DVD, CDRW) and and Office file types but they don't install when I apply the icon package. Do I have to hack into a dll or something to get these icons install?

I am wondering the same thing. My icons for my CDRW and DVD do not change after I use IconPackager either. Hope someone tells us how to change them...

I use E-Icons for the DVD/CDRW drives, that has no problem changing the icon. It can be found here: http://www.deepgls.com/eicons/ It will also allow changes to individual types such as .doc or .xls, although Icon Packager does this too with the 'add format' function. I thought the new version of Icon Packager changed the DVD/CDRW icons too, but not on mine for some reason. Anyway, E-Icons gets the job done

I installed E-Icons and tried to change my CD-RW and DVD icons. I Change Any Drive Icon and got an error message "Not available under Windows XP". Even when I click on Drives, I do not see my DVD drive. I see a CD-ROM drive, but when I try to change the icon and click "OK" and go into My Computer, the icon has not changed.

Hmmm, dunno...the 'Change any...' > 'Change any Drive Icon' works fine on mine

You have Windows XP, right Fuzzy? Also, you have the unregistered copy of E-Icons (30 day trial)? I installed it to the default path...twice already.
