I believe that you are thinking about the startup screen. ME doesn't have a logon screen. Try SUSD Screens 3. It's what I used to use. http://www.clever-software.co.uk/susd3/

The info is right there on the Logons page, just above the thumbnails......
Stardock's LogonStudio(TM) is a free program that allows users to easily customize new logon screens for Windows XP.

It should also state, only if you are not on a domain, and are using the Welcome Screen.

Logons only work on Windows XP. Windows Me does not have a skinnable log on screen.

Tony, after installing it bring it up and choose one of the three available 'welcome screens'. Hit apply then ok and your done.

Just out of curiosity, LogonStudio changes your Logon screen which also changes you boot up screen.

Is there a certain program which deals with boot up screens? I checked the library to the left over here and didn't find any.

Ok, Shakey I missed your post and that's what I'm looking for. But it says it's for 95/98 and I'm using XP. You think that would work with XP? If not does anyone else know something for XP?

This is ripped from this website verbatium....

Stardock's LogonStudio(TM) is a free program that allows users to easily customize new logon screens for Windows XP.

Stardock LogonStudio allows Windows XP users to edit, change, and apply new logon screens. LogonStudio comes built with a visual editor to make it easy to create your own logons which can then be uploaded to websites to be used by others users.

LogonStudio uses .logonxp files rather than requiring users to replace their actual logonui.exe.

LogonStudio is free.
