The core elements of every theme / Elements that are always defined on themes an skins:

Hi,

Not a joke post, but i did make this more for fun.

Here  an overview of the most common parts of themes abnd skins  that are needed to define them.

level 1: basic  elements - If these are not defined you didn`t even think about making a skin =).

level 2: now some elements that are needed to enhance your theme:

level 3: some aditional things that are more or less  required for artistic purposes:

Why i did make this, well to show of the things, that define the look of the skins. Don`t laugh about it.

All GUIS i do know have all of this options. On linux some theme designers do only changes at level 1.

The funny thing is that you can theoretically  let a computer do the rest of skinning and it would look flatpossibly , but not bad and the skin would be unique.

b.t.w: my next bright skin is coming soon.

Once upon a time there was a program called 'Builderblinds'.  People used it to skin themes for Windowblinds.  Its 'preview'/display option allowed you to show such things as the various 'states' of buttons...progress bars...etc.

The example above is from 2001.

It goes back a few years older than that, too...;)

hi,

you could create such themes with that program? respect. O:)

Skin Studio has  a lot of options and can`t  guess some substyles , but its indeed better .

Is there a way to write window blinds compatible .tga with imagemagick b.t.w?...

Well the gui elements were even there on GEM,and i bet even before.

Some DOS applications  could draw gui elements too..

The good thing is skinstudio lets us take screens with all elements  too ( image schould be viewed at 100% to show it correctly:) example:

I tought more the inverse to draw a pseudo screenshot and then import it. Would be easy to do if imagemagick works with window blinds.

Gimp does only work with .png correctly, .tga are written in an format that can`t read skinstudio damn.
