Can i link in theme description to ported gtk version?

Hi,

its possible for me to do dual plattform themes with reasonable amount of time ( gtk+ and wba).

Am i allowed to link my own ported gtk themes in the description from window blinds ???

NOTE: The gtk code is very much different and only the design is nearly the same. Do delete all possible traces to original  .wba files.

Only if you are the original author of the GTK themes.

I doubt some other person would make that. It would require some knowledge you can`t get in a month. Gtk theme designers are usally busy enough with keeping their themes fast and stable ( my gtk themes are stable and teted but not faster than the standard themes, which is often the case there )

Do have something comparable to window blinds for gtk, but not usable for anyone else. Can convert a window blinds skin from scratch to gtk in 5 hrs . Basic thinks like buttons can be imported automatically, but the rest needs a lot of testing.

Anything 'ported', whatever the source and/or reason MUST have original author's consent.

If you port someone else's work from another program/theme/style/shell/OS you are required to seek and obtain consent for its redistribution.

That's the short and sweet explanation of 'copyright' as it pertains to skins...;)

you don't get the point.

what he does is doing the same design for two different platforms.

what he is asking is whether a link to his own design for GTK+ (probably to gnome-look.org) in the skin description here at WC would be considered spam.

Ah....if that's the case then the answer is 'no'...it wouldn't be considered 'spam'...;)
