[0.50] Gilmoy's Bugs and Gripes

Beta 1 bugs that persist (not yet fixed).  Not a big deal; probably deferred to Beta 3 or a 2.x patch.

  1. [_] Black holes still twinkle through Fog of War.  (Huge map)
  2. [_] Planet Approval: discrepancy of cornerbar to sidebar is still (up to) -1% low (which causes the Planet Manage screen to miss the proper approval bonus tier).

Old bugs (that may not have gotten attention):

  1. [_] New Game, Drengin Empire: Dangling participle in text: "A, there are few beings B", with A = "Exceedingly clever and vicious" and B = whatever.  The A clause has lost its subject (Drengin), so it must bind to something, and the only other subject is "few beings".  It's the English equivalent of a link error for an unresolved symbol.
    • Fix: "Drengin are A; there are few beings B".  Or split it into 2 separate sentences.  Or add a causal link: "Since Drengin are A, there are few beings B".  Or just delete A, and let B stand alone.

First, thank you for posting these bugs. I am especially impressed by the dangling participle reference. (Not sarcasm.) Second, I like the idea of putting the version number in the title in brackets.  It makes it easy to distinguish [0.50] comments, which I'm extremely interested in, from those about version [0.42]. Why, if there weren't brackets, I might have to read a lot of posts only to discover, too late, that the post is about 0.42. And it just isn't proper English to drop a "0.50" into a sentence if it isn't working as a part of speech. There is a lot to admire about the bracket convention.

"People! Let's use more brackets." O:)
