Has the genre of poetry lost its charm? I searched for 3 days to find the poem I used in 'Kavita', a wallpaper but got no feedback...
I was hoping for a surge of feedback...
Is poetry dead????

As for Angela's invitation (tho that was 4 hours ago), I'd like to say,
'Thanks dear. But I am a vegetarian. My religion prohibits me from eating meat. Maybe some other time. And cause you are a lean, mean hugging machine, here's one for you' ((((HUG)))) [Not a squisy, feminine hug, but a tight male hug]

Thanks WOM.
Thanks a lot for showing me the light. Else I would have banged my head against the walls trying to figure out a way to make wallpapers to whet other people's appetites instead of satisfying my own creative urges.
Thank you once again and keep up the good work. There are so many Ashu's out there. hehe

A net addict's diary.
Easy day: Had nothing to do, so spent four hours surfing the net.
Busy day: Had a lot of work, so spent four hours surfing the net.
Hard Day: Was very busy, could barely squeeze in four hours surfing on the net.

Here's one someone I know wrote:

The Narrowed Road.

The old house still stands
'mid the grounds and ancient lands.
Memories of childhood I recall,
through my mind they rise and fall.

The waterfall thunders in the distance
covering the heartbeat of the instant.
River flows, its white foam brewing,
'round the turn,no longer stewing.

Underbrush, now grown all 'round,
tries to cover each cricket sound.
The path once wide has narrowed much,
to find one's way is done by touch.

The correlation of then and now
comes before my sweating brow.
When we were young, the road was wide
to explore our world on life's long ride.

As we near the end of our traveled road,
our story's left and others told.
For eyes are now dim and boby slowed;
there's only touch down this lonely road.

My day

Salad greens
Coffee beans
Champagne ice
Craps dice
Hank Hill
And other swill
Neighbors drunk
Smell of skunk
Walk the dog
Chop a log
Light a fire
Ethics for hire
Make a skin
Wearing thin
Time to sleep
Clothes in heap
Kissed the wife
Good old life

----motion

Modern verse ashu. Quick, to the point. Kind of Dylanesque (Bob Dylan that is )

And serves the purpose, drank coffee, criticised the neighbours, did the chores and kissed the wife. What a lovely day, motion.

Here's a new one by the same person.

SYMBOLIC HOPE

White dove is free
to soar in the air.
To spread its wings,
go here and there.

It sings its song
of peace and love.
It spreads its joy
from far above.

It's symbolic hope,
with branch in bill.
It's an ambassador
of his goodwill.

OK, here's another one of mine...

CYMRU

Seagull's afar eyed view adown
Llanberis pass, in his winged farce,
Surveys the scene, the spotted green,
Of pagan purple heather's crown.

Lecherous stones lustfully rise
In stark candour , amidst rancour,
Of Druids who, babel and brew,
Ancient chants and ritual cries.

Lythe Ynys Mon peers up upon
Snowdonia - Snowdonia
Looks down and seems, to infer dreams,
On Menai Strait and then is gone.

I'm not Welsh, but it was written to be read aloud with a Welsh accent. My college English teacher was Welsh and really loved this one...!
/me knows how to get good marks

good one fuzzylogic.
welsh, eh?
I have one, this was when computers were introduced in my school. This was posted on the notice board in the computer lab.

'This computer is such a stupid machine,
I wish that they would sell it,
It never does what I want it to do,
But only what I tell it.'
ashu modi, no I didn't write it. You can take that to the bank.

What? Didn't u like the couplet bout the computer? UZZLED: It kinda shows the frustation all of us experience while working on this dumb box.
After spending the last two and a half years doing pc support I can tell you it's not the box that's dumb but the user

User: I can't get this pc to work
PC S: There's nothing wrong with it, works fine for me
User: I cant work like this, I want another pc
PC S: Try this one, It's a clean install, never been used
User: This is no good either, it does the same as the other one
PC S: > > > > > Goes out to lunch vowing never to return..."I'm going f'ing home and I'm not f'ing coming back..."

How some people survive from day to day with the brains they have is a total mystery to me
