Doesnt anyone know, those in 1280 look really bad in 1600*1200

I know Im a complete newbie but cant someone help me or do I have to go with the lame defaultlogon in xp.

The only interim solution I've figured out is to work on a 12x10 that has a dark background and resize the 'canvas' up to 16x12.
You still end up with a logon image at 12x10 but the larger background doesn't distort it.
Of course, it's not that hard to make the step from there to making one's own logon.

Not a lot of 16x12 users out there BTW.
