Do you have to adhere to the exact positions of controls and objects on the logon screens?

I mean, does the logon button have to be to the right of the password box and is of that exact size?

Yes, most elements of a logon have a fixed position and size. You can move the user box to one of nine positions on the screen, but that's about it.

Technically if the LogonUI.exe is just an excecutable that initiates the logon procedure performed by another program then the logon app could look like anything, and could even be a 3D program where you... say have a gun and shoot the person you want to log in as...
