New to the skinning world

Hey peoples, I am rather new to skinning and would like to try my hand at getting better. If anyone could offer me tips or programs to use I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks for your time and hopefully friendship. Spike

Spike...get a 'simple' skin open it up and look at the bits in your favourite graphic proggy....ideally a bit better than MS Paint...PaintShop Pro will do just fine...and look at em...maybe alter some graphics here or there, reload the skin and observe the results.
Yes, it sounds convoluted and complicated, but it is the way many learned how to do it and what was needed.
It's what I did to start with WinAMP, for example...and all the other apps I have done.

Start with a simple proggy so you easily get the hang of it...then get more 'adventurous'...
