WinCustomize Browser

I can't access the Message Board through the WinCustomize Brower. It seems to me that I'm supposed to be able to.

I'm using the latest shareware version of the browser on WindowsXP. Whenever I click on the discussion icon, I'm told that the last update check failed.

Any suggestions?

Close the browser and Tty deleting the discussions.ini, then click on the browser again and see if that helps.

WOM: Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately that didn't change anything. The discussion windows are still blank, and if I attempt to update them I get the update error mentioned before.

Do it again and also go into the skinbrowser and there is a folder called discussions. Click on it and delete the contents(1 file called wincustomize). Then click on the browser again and see what happens. After you click on the discussions, at the top you will see a couple arrows. Click on the left arrow and then the folder. That shopuld update you and get things started. It did for me. Lets hope it works for you.

Also not sure if this will work for the Trial or shareware version.

Okay, I'm not sure exactly what went wrong with the installation, but everything works now!

During the installation, four directorties were created directly in the root directory, i.e. c:\ - discussion, comments, download and data. Only the download directory was also created in the WinCustomize\SkinBrowser directory. I moved the four directories into the SkinBrowser directory (and renamed "Discussion" to "discussion" - I don't think that mattered).

I then deleted wincustomize.ini, and restarted the WinCustimize Browser. It now works perfectly (at least I think it's perfectly).

Thanks for your suggestions, they definitely led me down the correct path.
