Object Bar and task bar buttons

Can someone help me? Usually, in the taskbar, when you open a proggie, a little button representing the button will appear, right?

But on mine, numerous progs mess up my screen and I'm forced to use Alt+Tab. But there should be task bar buttons right?

Have I somehow absent mindedly changed an option which I wasnt suppose to change?

If you have the .65 version of ObjectDock running, it will interfere with the task bar showing the app images. Get the new version at http://www.objectdock.com

It has been fixed.

If you don't have ObjectDock running, I have no idea what could be causing your problem, sorry.

Uh.. actually this happens when I use object BAR

And you were saying DOCK. so, do i have to download object Dock?

No. He's saying that the ObjectDock (pre 7 versions) anyway could interfere with ObjectBar showing tasks. If you are not running ObjectDock then it's not that.

NightShadowe - ok so now i cant fix it so it seems

before leaping to conclusions, lets try some things first.

which version of OB are you using?

have you tried different themes?

if so, does it go wrong with all of them? if not, then i would strongly suggest doing so.

on the bars properties, try turning off docking to the edge of the screen. that might well do it

all right, this is strange.

lets try and start at the same point.

what OS are you using? are you running window blinds? are you using a shell replacement (eg lightstep. etc).

have you tried closing all other programs?

have you tried un-installing OB, renaming the OB install directory to "fred", and then doing a clean install?

are you using the latest trial version of OB?

do you have one of the "windows classic" OB theme's installed? they have a fairly simple structure, so are a good place to start investigations.

OS= win98

Closed all proggies, restart, alright; still the same.

Haveyet to try reinstallation.

Downloaded latest version, alright.

Wait. Thats strange...... I'd been unloading ObjectBar for a few days now and now, i reloaded to check the Classic suggestions and what do you know? they're all back on every skin!!!!!

Ok, but wait till i reboot. Brb to tell in a few hours time.

this is strange. my first thought is that it sounds like you are using filtering rules on the task bar section of the bar.

in the OB theme editor, can you find the taskbar section?

if so, what are the settings on the "Behavior" tab.

if there is no taskbar section, then that is a separate problem.

the only other thought from the description is that there is some other program you are loading that is interfering with OB.
