component manager problem

anyone ever run in to the problem where component manager just does not bother to display a list of available components?

i just reinstalled winxp and all the updates, then component manager. updated with my serial number and see the begin and end dates of my subscription on the "user information" page. i can view latest news no problem. however, when i click on "available components" i get nothing. server says "servername" and status says "status" and then no components are displayed, no matter what i choose in the dropdown.

any ideas how to fix?

I just reinstalled XP yesterday, reinstalled Component Manager, and after reading your post, I went to check and mine seems to be working perfectly. I know this isn't any help, but perhaps if you un-installed and then reinstalled it, it might fix the problem?.....

I've been getting the same thing lately. Can't view any available components. I had to download from the web directly. You can log in at http://www.objectdesktop.com/odnet2 and then download components from there.

I just opened CM and the latest Winstyles update showed up, dated 12/6/2002. Seems to be working here.
