Jafo, perhaps you can explain....

Recently I have rewatched a couple of old movies from Oz. Muriel's Wedding and Priscilla, Princes of the Desert. Both of these movies seemed to suggest that for a time during the 80's and perhaps the 90's there was what can best be described, as an unhealthy preoccupation with the 70's group ABBA.

Please enlighten.

'facetious'... Spell checker

Basically, it was Oz that made ABBA 'big'. I think places like the US probably were unaware of them...but their music was quite good, and still holds up well today.
Cannot say the same thing for the costumes, though.....and I always thought the guys were 'trying' to look prettier than the girls...

Do you hear the drums, Fernando.....?

Hehe...

"Dancing Queen" was and is still the guay community's rally song.

But it's true that ABBA in general was extremely popular in the 80's (not so much the 90's though).
