why can't I close, minimize, or maximize the Internet Explorer windows?

If you just installed Windowblinds it's probably because of something called 'Common Name' in you program files. Uninstall it and that should take care of it. Don't worry, uninstalling it won't mess anything up.

You might want to get and download SpyBot Search and Destroy (freeware) and use that before you try to delete Common Name on your own (if you have it). Apparently the recent version of Common Name mucks with winsock settings and can screw up your internet connection. Check for more info and links here:
