Any skinning future for me?

Any skinning future for me?

Hey guys,

On the toppic how do ya look, i noiticed that the people around here are much older then me.
(I am just a 14 yo boy (23 januari i become 15 ) that try's to skin somethings as his hobby)
Now i am looking for some seriouse skinning. I am trying to get the hang of windowblinds, and will upload my 1st theme soon.
Do you guys think there is some future here for me, i mean in the skinning world?

I started skinning things about a half year ago, so do you guys think that in 2 or 3 years I have become more skilled and can make skinning as a (payed) hobby? btw, i am willing to learn a lot of skinning language's such as MAKI.

please let me know.

(that explains my obsesion for downloads Koasati )

JM....

My wall actually was a screen capture....it took me longer to work out how to 'save' the pic than it did to create it...[truly].
Bryce 3D v3.1 had an issue with my WB skin and I had to exclude it before I even found the bar to enable me to close the proggy...

Generally speaking, yes, I know it's crappy, but my wall had more to do with what Bryce did to it than what I did.
I merely 'twiddled', then got hugely bored waiting for a render.
In a lot of ways it IS a 'generator', where in simple terms you can 'make a pic'.
What fortunately separates it from total cruds-ville is that in the hands of a skilled operator you can get some pretty sexy results.

This is STILL not a dig at Bryce, and other similar proggies, but a dig at those who believe that a wall such as mine actually has merit.
I was poking fun at the point-and-click brigade by doing just that, myself....

I'll get around to having a 'serious' go at it sometime....just to make sure that no-one presumes my ignorance of the medium...

The possible problem with many graphic proggies is their use of 'presets' and 'filters', 'textures', etc, which can be so 'predictable' in the hands of those new to the proggy....

Jafo, yes Bryce doesn't like to be skinned, I just excluded it long ago, Painter is the same way, I also excluded that. I'm not sure about Photoshop yet, because I haven't used it much yet. (I did order a couple of good instruction books for it... haven't got them yet.) I still want to know how your "crappy" wall has a 10 rating? I assume that's all part of the big joke....

And by the way, I used to keep two computers set up just so I could render on one while using the Internet on the other. Darn, I almost wish I hadn't sold that other computer. I bloody hate waiting for renders. However, Bryce 5 does allow you to multi-task without upsetting it's rendering, it's just not very good at it, Bryce is a notorious resources hog...

JM...I dunno who put the '10' on it...probably a devoted secret admirer...or a twit....either way it was auto-loaded with a '6' as a direct 'moderation-free' upload.

Blind Freddie knows it's certainly not a '10'...even IF in certain light it looks better than Bo Derrick....

JM: you sed "There is no way to just automatically "generate" a picture in Bryce" ??

migellito has forgotten more about skinning and digital art that you know. Very, very few people here aren't aware of how Bryce works. You aren't gonna get that kind of statement past us.

When you are waiting for Bryce to render, what exactly are you waiting for? Maybe for it to GENERATE your image for you? If you had done the work by hand what would there be to render? If you didn't paint in the lighting yourself, it was generated.

Most Bryce 'artists' can't fathom the idea that other artists conceptualize something in their mind, and *then* create it. If what I want to do requires something the app can't do, I can do it myself; even if I have to do it in real life and scan it. Even true Bryce artists that create their art with craft realize that a great deal of the work is being done for them. To state the opposite is to openly admit you have no idea what it takes to make such an image from scratch.

There are aspects of 'generation' in all digital art applications, but the question is; could you produce a reasonable facsimile of your image without it? If you can't, it is being done for you, and the app is the artist. No amount of asinine bickering is gonna change the fact.

Jafo, i had the problem too, did 2 days about finding out where the task bar was

JM: you know how Bryce works. you had done the work by hand yourself.
Most Bryce 'artists' create it.
you produce artist.

Well, thank you very much, bakerstreet. Your spelling and grammar are terrible but the thought
is appreciated!

JM: Jafo is welcome to correct my spelling and grammar, and you are welcome to make a decent argument; in words if not in product.

You made a dubious statement: ("There is no way to just automatically 'generate' a picture in Bryce"), and I answered it. It's not like I'm knocking you off the swing and pulling your hair.

BTW, whataya think about that wallpaper section? I think it oughtta go, you?

JM: Jafo is welcome, and you are welcome.
