Any skinning future for me?

Hey guys,

On the toppic how do ya look, i noiticed that the people around here are much older then me.
(I am just a 14 yo boy (23 januari i become 15 ) that try's to skin somethings as his hobby)
Now i am looking for some seriouse skinning. I am trying to get the hang of windowblinds, and will upload my 1st theme soon.
Do you guys think there is some future here for me, i mean in the skinning world?

I started skinning things about a half year ago, so do you guys think that in 2 or 3 years I have become more skilled and can make skinning as a (payed) hobby? btw, i am willing to learn a lot of skinning language's such as MAKI.

please let me know.

(that explains my obsesion for downloads Koasati )

uhmmm...

You are 14. You have nothing else except a future. Use your time for learning and perfecting your craft. Get a job working for the NFL designing their game graphics or something

Who knows what the future holds for anyone.

One thing I do know is that sometimes one thing leads to another. You might find out that there are other areas that are more interesting and profitable. Like programming or disk throwing.

My comment is not made on your skinning abilities. I am not authorized to make a comment on that subject.

I also wanted to add that I noticed that DeviantArt is having some kind of contest to design their site.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained

Styl, you are young, you are nothing, the only thing you have is a future.

Does this answer your question?

34 years ago there were probably just one or two computers in my entire country.
Calculators [of the digital kind] hadn't even been invented yet....

Who is to say what lies ahead for any of us?...

16 tons, and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt.
My wife's gone and run off with my best friend Jim, I don't miss her but I sure miss him...

Tennessee Ernie Jafo spelled his way out of the coal mine, i see!

Styl, you have just as great a future in skinning as you choose to have.
And you've got a lot more time than some of us to get good at it!

I think that if you have things you love, and things that interest you... pay attention to them and don't think overmuch about the future which is a dark and nebulous thing right now. If you do what you love, and get good at it the future has a way of working it in. And along the way you have lived intensely!

You don't learn a thing from tutorials. Poke around yourself. And what's with those elves and faeries?
they are special protector elves and faeries who have been assigned
to protect me from letting my big mouth get me into trouble...
As long as I feed them the occasional cracker (unsalted) they
have been watching my backside.
I already told two of the tiny little twinkie faerie type lovely's
to stop pinching my butt...
But, I am on notice, so I let them pinch all they want..
They sure seem to get a big chuckle out of it.
To me it's just humiliating.
I do what I have to do!!!!
I will survive.

The correct start point are the tutorials made by others.
Do you need to have a lot of imagination. The tools aren't important without imagination.
It is imrecindible the patience. Make diferent designs, allways trying to be original.
Make skins for diferent skin applications. When you created diverse skins, you will be ready for any skinned application, after this, you can only make greather skins with imagination.
Please, don't copy the Mac and Windows designs, and try to use your technics for graphics. The tutorials only shows how to make a specific style.

Styl, only you can decide your future, so work and work.

My advise would be, do what you love to do! If it is socker, go play socker. If it is skinning, be innovative, try out new idea's, practice, create...Don't push for any money you might earn later, just have fun in creating! Listen to Carlitus!

Ask Jafo Styl, he'd be more than happy to offer critiques of your work... he did for me!

Lecrayon.....'soccer'... Spell checker

Styl...were I to critique your work and you survived without running off and hiding, I'd say you had a great future...

Remember, I am now a master of the Art of Bryce...[used it for 5 minutes]...and have a flair for lens-flares, know a blue-swirlie when I see it [dead giveaway...it's blue and it swirls]...am a poseur with Poser and can puke a Filter as good as the next man...

here's just a quick look. i'll try to add more later.

your work with graphics generators shows competence and a good grasp of balance and color. your dx theme has a good layout, but is a bit 'flat.' overall, your work needs more visual depth - a sense of physicality and mass - but shows promise.

in general, generator programs like bryce tend to inhibit creativity more than unleash it. your best course of action would be to wrap yourself around a good photoshop or psp tutorial and dig in. somebody has probably already mentioned the pshop tutorials at wasted youth, but i'll mention them again.

i tend to like analogies, so here's one. using bryce, poser, tgen, et cetera, is much like watching a few dozen episodes of bob ross painting 'happy little trees.' it's a quick way to get some nifty effects, but all you'll end up with is motel room art. yes, it's possible to get really creative excellent results with either, but only with a generous application of time, effort, creativity and practiced skill. anything worthwhile takes time

Mig...are you saying my 5 minutes with Bryce resulted in a crappy wall?

Oh, woe is me....and here I thought I was finally showing true genius....

You mean I gotta take 10 minutes?...

Excuse me, but Bryce 5 is in NO WAY an image generator. You obviously don't know what you're talking about...
Just as with any other art program, you start with a blank white screen. There is no way to just automatically "generate" a picture in Bryce.
