WindowBlinds and Style XP Visuals

Correct if I'm wrong. All of your skins or windowblinds skins, their name ends in .wba correct? I can't open a .wba file. So if I get window blinds how will my present XP visuals and the .wba combine. In other words I don't know what the hell I'm saying.

Window blinds won't effect them at all... it will mearlely add more to the list... and you soon discover that the windowblinds one's actually use less memory... and skin more of the windows surprisingly... the only down side is that you can't use the windowblinds skins with the existing themes section under desktop properties... you can only use the standard windows ones...

You shouldn't need to open the .wba file. If you are running windowblinds and you download the windowblind "skin" that you like (from this site) it should automatically install itself in the correct place in your directory. To see it you will need to do to display properties/appearance or display properties/skins depending on what OS you are running - it should be in the drop down box. If it does not automatically install when downloaded, you can doubleclick on the .wba file and it will. Then you access it the same as stated above. Hope this is helpful.

You need the program windowblinds to use the skins. Once you have the program loaded all you have to do is doudle click on the WBA file. Then right click on your desktop, select properties then appearence, then select the skin you want and click apply.

really if I double click on it, it doesn't get added to my list... is there something missing from mine... it just does nothing... my cursor turns to and hour glass for about a second, and when I think something is gonna happen, nothing does... go to the list, it's not there... so I have to do it the old fashioned way... if you are running windows me... you open windowblinds, and select the option instal skin from disk, then pick the wba, or zip file, if you are running xp, simply click on the add button next to the list of themes... it's that easy... and of course after you add it, you select it... but if you don't have windowblinds installed... it is impossible to install a .wba file since windowblinds has it's own highly advanced code that is copyrighted, and no one other software supports...

.wba is a renamed .zip file....nothing mysterious, just something a registry can recognize.

Rename a .wba file to a .zip and you can access its contents in any zip archive proggy you wish...

da_zman, the list you are looking for in the case of Windowblinds is not the same list as for Style XP. If I remember correctly last time I used Style XP, it add the skins to the "Theme" list. Windowblinds skins are under the Appearance tab.

Actually it adds to both Appearance AND Themes. Sorting it all out is guess work as to WHY (and HOW is another matter entirely). I refuse to use the competition, for that very reason. And I would think after a YEAR they could improve on their program....

That's the reason I use Stardock products. The competition, while many of the skins ARE good, just can't update and improve often enough to keep me interested.
