Start8 User Icon

Happens here too Jim, that's why I turn off the user icon in SKS8 when designing a skin. Not only that, but for my personal tastes too, I don't like them. 

I've been wondering how to do that. User icons are fugly. How to?

On windows7 you should be able to do that in SKS under edit start menu and taskbar/edit startmenu/top part/ now on the bottom click ---extra settings---
scroll a bit down and find ---Hide user picture--- enable it and save. 

On Win8 there is a simple option in Start8 for it ---configurate - show profile picture

A thrid solution to hide the userpicture is called "NoUserPicture" i used it on windows7 never had a problem with it. 

**Since you guys use windows8 in combination with Start8 and Windowblinds  you have to do both settings (in Skinstudio and Start8) that the white frame disappears. 
So hide it for the choosen skin in SKS and then hide it in start8 and the User picture will be gone.

For each skin...right?

I believe this should not be like this since we want to keep it simple... and user friendly
this is far from simple for such a small change...
I will address this issue to support so we can get a fix for it...

Benmanns, I appreciate the input, but yes, the point of this thread is to point out to support/developers that Start8 is SUPPOSED to remove the user icon, but it doesn't work.

It would be a real pain in the ass to have to manually remove the icon via SKS for every skin I use.

The SKS resolution works, but Start8 is supposed to do it easier.  Please fix Start8, support.

point is that the two apps should communicate and share info but that seems not to be working

So far we have not been able to duplicate this here.

Might I restate the obvious to ask, you are trying it with WB running, correct?

Start8 removes the user icon fine without WB running. Maybe there should be an option in WB Config?
