long downloads?

first of all, let me apologize if this is not the appropriate place to post this but i had to ask somewhere. yesterday, i downloaded a couple of items from the web site and it took quite some time to get each of the small files. today, i'm getting the orion icon suite, and it's gonna take forever!! ie says it will take over 6 hours for the first download alone. now, if i was on a dialup, i could understand this but i'm on cable. is stardock/wincustomize experiencing server problems over the holiday? if so, maybe i should cancel the download and try again monday of next week. dont' get me wrong, i'm really not complaining but i am curious. have a great weekend, everybody!!

One of their apps was featured on TechTV. Anytime that happens, the servers get bombarded. Plus, as I understand it, Stardock was doing something with their mailing list and there were a couple of other things going on too. It just unfortunate timing. Things should be getting back to normal shortly.

OK, then. At least it's not just me. I tried to download updates via CM this morning and wow my cable connection seemed to turn into a dial up (well actually slower than my dialup). Everything else was speedy except for that, so I wondered if SD's servers were getting hammered or what.

I've had the same problem with CM for the last couple of days. My downloads seem to take forever. But here at the site, things are as fast still blazing fast.
